Work values are the guiding priorities that define what you want from your work and what makes it satisfying and worthwhile.
This assessment will help you identify the work values that matter most to you. By understanding these values, you gain greater self-awareness about what motivates and fulfils you, empowering you to make more informed and satisfying career decisions.
Please complete this on a computer. The exercise involves dragging values into categories, which is difficult to do on a phone or tablet.
Instructions
1
Sort the values. Drag the values into categories by importance. If one of your key values is missing, you can add up to three of your own.
2
Put your Core and Strong values in order. Once you've organised the values into the four categories, rank the values within Core and Strong in order of importance to you.
3
Reflect and write notes. Reflect on your Core and Strong values, and use the Self-Reflection Notes section to jot down any thoughts on what they mean to you and why they're important.
4
Email your results. Email your results so we can discuss and go through them together in our session.
Step 1 · Sort the values
Sort into categories
Drag each value into the category that fits. Core holds 5, Strong and Supporting hold 7 each.
Unsorted — drag these into a category
You can add up to 3 of your own values.
Core
0 / 5
Essential to who I am — I can't flourish without these.
Strong
0 / 7
Very important and highly desired.
Supporting
0 / 7
These enhance my experience, though not essential on their own.
Low
0
Lowest priority in what motivates me.
Step 2 · Put them in order
Rank your Core & Strong values
Order each list so your most important value sits at the top. Drag by the handle, or use the arrows. These update as you sort above.
Core
Essential to who you are.
Sort values into Core above and they'll appear here to rank.
Strong
Very important and highly desired.
Sort values into Strong above and they'll appear here to rank.
Step 3 · Self-Reflection Notes
What do these mean to you?
For each Core value, in your own words, note what it means to you and why it's important. Then add any notes on your Strong values at the end.
Your Core values will appear here for reflection once you've sorted them.
Step 4 · Email your results
Share your results
When you're done, download the PDF of your results and email these across so we can go through them together in our session.
